You can try DXO for a month I think, then decide. Two levels of purchase, the more expensive of course to get the Prime denoiser.
Good luck. It's never happened to me....just a matter of time and I'll be pulling the battery :(

In spite of the error, I'm going to keep the A77ii through the first week of March for the two Spring Training games I'm shooting. Fifth row, Nationals/Tigers--very excited!

I tried it out while hitting tennis balls to my 4-year-old, and like her, it was hit or miss. I have no doubt it was because I was only doing slightly better than spraying and praying--lol. But hey, I got a few keepers!

Mickey just curious did the Steady Shot error show up in the EVF or LCD? Does it matter which lens and if stabilization is on or off at the lens?

The error shows up on the LCD.

I haven't thought of turning off Steady Shot, I'll try it out.

I only have the Minolta 200 for it, no stability on it. There is probably a chance that my 27-year-old lens isn't communicating with my state-of-the-art camera.

Haha, we'll be in Florida over Christmas sometime...probably return to Vierra, it's so productive.
So I'll get a dose of Sun.
speaking of, today, perfectly blue sky, not a cloud, NO hawks :(
But I'm about done with the hawks. Poofs Oly 300 gets here this week and maybe by end of March
the Leica 100-400 will be here fingers crossed--then I'll change up and shoot some little birds for a while.

I see a few hawks every week, lots around my neighborhood for some reason. I need to get in gear and capture a few.

We are so spoiled here in FL! No snowy owls, though :(

None here either. I had to go 1000 miles north. We always want whatever we don't have. That leaves me wanting a lot :)

If you can find the time, try to make the 40 min drive south from Viera to northern Indian River County (Sebastian/Wabasso). There are a few really good birding hotspots there.

Egret Island isn't easy to get to, but worth it from what I hear.

Also, ST. Sebastian Preserve State Park is fantastic. Miles and miles of nature trails. Birds, deer, even the occasional rattlesnake!

I tried getting a the vulture that was circling behind my house, but he was just too high up to get a good shot with my 200MM prime. I guess if I ever want to turn into a real birder I better get bigger glass--lol.

This was not the sharpest or best pic/crop ever, but it makes me wonder how it would clean up wit DXO Prime as opposed to the CS5 I'm using. I sharpened it up, no noise reduction.

The a77ii saga continues . . .

I sent it back into Secondipity, expecting them to refund my PayPal account as is their policy.

Just for the heck of it, I included my regrets in the return email saying how much I wish I could just get a return instead of my money back.

Well, today I get an email telling me that I have another A77ii coming in the mail. I wonder if I will get another refurb in return, or if they'll just send me a new one? I honestly don't care, just as long as the blasted Steady Shot works!

At any rate, early returns on my Spring Training pics are promising. With working steady shot, I really bet the shots would have been even sharper.

That said, I get to shoot a ST game using my a6000 and LA-EA3 adapter--manual focus, baby!! It will definitely be interesting!

You deserve a new one.
Now a stupid question....how do I know that a77ii is working....is there something I should look for in the EVF-an embarrassing question I know.
I don't know about manual focus for sports but hey it was done for decades wasn't it :)

My two MLB Spring Training games with the A77ii went well, although I did miss the Steady Shot feature on some shots.

As a Detroit Tigers fan, the story of backup catcher Bryan Holaday has been captivating. The former light-hitting catcher is hitting the cover off the ball this spring, even though there is almost no chance he will make the team. In Viera, he took Washington Nationals fireballer Stephen Strasburg deep in his first plate appearance--then took the next pitcher deep in his ensuing at bat.

The UPS truck brought my replacement A77ii today from Secondipity via eBay. The last body they sent me was clean, but had been used before IMO--which was expected, given that it was a refurb. It did came with an A77 strap instead of a mark ii strap.

If this body isn't brand new, then they have completely fooled me. Looks and handles new, new A77ii strap as well. Just missing the Sony box and instruction manual.

Steady shot is working, and we're good to go. I'm considering getting a second lens for it, even if it is eventually. I've considered the Sony 16-50 2.8, but I'm really pretty ok with shooting the a6000/kit lens combo when I need that kind of versatility. I could probably talk myself into a used copy of the Sony/Zeiss 135 1.8 for around $900. Although, I did just get a Russian made Zeiss Jena knockoff LOMO 120 1.8 I'm going to try to convert to shoot on e-mount. For $53 it was a gamble with upside.

The Minolta HS 300 2.8 I was eyeing on eBay just sold after several months of being posted--$1680. Heck of a deal for that caliber lens, but there is always something that will turn up.

It is good to have an A77ii at full-strength, can't wait to get out with it.
