Herringbone hand straps are quite nice ($30 to about $33) and come in assorted colors leather and stitching. Black leather with red stitching is shown at http://www.amazon.com …ef=s9_dcbhz_bw_g421_i2_sh (external link). Make sure you get the type one which includes the mounting plate.

Note, if there is a negative it is comments that the leather stretches and this is true. But I found that after a few weeks of use you just readjust. After perhaps two readjustments it didn't exhibit any further changes and my strap is about 2-1/2 years old. The strap is relatively high quality leather so I do throw some leather protector on it a couple of times a year (doing the car seats anyway :) )

I experienced the same thing... stable after a few weeks of use. I ended up including my Herringbone strap with my 60D when I sold it. I had purchased a Markins hand strap in the mean time for a second body.... I really do like the Markins.

Unfortunately, they aren't making them any more.... or were not the last time I checked. I emailed them to see if they were planning on reintroducing one. The reply I got back was a bit vague. The person left open the possibility, but didn't say one was in the works. ;)

If anyone is still searching for a good hand strap thats generally at an awesome price point... I know its almost blasphemy but, its a Nikon AH-4. I've got one on my 7D and I love it.
Heres a review (external link) of it, pretty sure I paid $14 Canadian on eBay for mine, but have seen them for roughly the same $14USD in online stores.
