If I look very very very closely can I see you standing reflected in his eye holding a giant t-bone steak???
Just teasing about the steak, I know you don't treat but I was serious about the clarity in the eye.

Thanks. I have to humbly disclose that the critter was in a Rescue Center (captive animal).

What a cool looking animal, is it a member of the Mustelidae (includes the otters, polecats, weasels and wolverines) or some other linage?

A couple of shots of the UK's other smallest bird the Goldcrest, this one wandered by when I was shooting the Firecrest.

This shot illustrates the Goldcrest's fluttering floaty progress in contrast to the FIrecrest.

Another FIrecrest shot for easy comparison of these two Kinglets.

Yes, it is a mustelid according to Wikipedia. Unusual animal indeed.

First shot with the thorns :( Careful stepping/landing indeed.
Beautiful little gem you have there.
I've never studied to see what is 'smallest' in the states. Hmmmm,
probably a warbler of some type I'd guess.
Beautiful capture as always.
