MORE DESIGNS DOWN PAGE 1 AND PAGE 2

I've contacted two companies regarding designing me a professional looking Logo and Design.

I'll be incorporating my business per highly recommended by my tax attorney this year while I had my personal taxes done we discussed my ideas on
starting this business. ( Legitimately )

So the only thing I was able to come up with was this horrible bland design.

https://content-na.drive.amazonaws.com …pN/alt/thumb?viewBox=1680 (external link)

So I got online and tried some more using some sites that have common stuff for designs.

I came up with this. Which, I actually don't mind.

I still don't think it gives off any real... I don't know. I totally lack in the logo/design field.
I've talked to a local who said $500 is his minimum but he would work with me until I was happy.
I've contacted Delux Logo Design who is a site that does work nation wide and am waiting to hear back from them.

Appreciate the constructive criticism.

Thanks

If nothing else, the font should fill that box. Too much space in there

500 is reasonable. That's usually where i start.

what you have there is a 50 dollar logo.

Alright guys, I appreciate it. In contact with Delux Logo design. Looking forward to posting what designs they came up with.
They said for the $400 package I ordered I would have 3 designers create 2 samples each and then I could revise as many times as needed.

Thanks for the honest feed back!

I did a quick google image search for photographer logos and saw a bunch of good ones. You should take a look at them

I've got a couple people sending me some possible ideas/sketches before I spend $400 on logo delux.
I need to stop being cheap and just pay it, its nothing long term I guess for something that will represent my company.

Alright so before going with the Deluxe Logo company I tried out this other website.

I paid for 2 designs and get a revision on one unless I pay again for two more designs which I could easily do, it was significantly cheaper than 400.

Here's the first drafts I was sent.

What do you guys think?

Im paying for 2 more designs and then going to see what I like and tweek one of them.

I like the letters of the 2nd one and the logo of the first one.

Yeah I like its top part more. I mashed them together. I think this looks better....

I'll be waiting for the 2 more designs and we'll see.

I like the second one. I think the shutter graphic has been over done. Plus the angles of the shutter blades overlaid by the stylized house or a picture frame (im guessing) seems too busy.

In order to have an effective logo there are a few basic "rules"

1) Is your logo recognisable? It must have a postive link to your company and/product
2) Is it versatile? Would your logo work in black & white, as an favicon, can you vinyl cut it to brand your vehicle etc...Always review your drafts in black and white, when colour is added it makes the logo look far better than it is
3) Is it trendy? A good logo is timeless and never looks dated or part of a certain era
4) KISS? Logos arent a showcase for your designers range of abilities, its your companies emblem, not the entire company profile.
5) Is your logo unique? Designers tend to imitate famous logos in the hopes that what made the apple logo famous will work for them. Its the CEO's of those companies that built them, the logo was just the flag they marched under

I have no association with this company but check out the help section of thelogofactory.com as a start.....

hey, thanks for that info. I'll keep that in mind.

I paid another guy to design a logo and I actually like it. I think it's more professional than the previous ones I've posted.

Let me know what you guys think.

I really like the soft Blue.. It gives me a comfortable feeling for some reason.

Far better than the previous logos.....

However it look like an estate agents logo

What exactly is your main area of photography in terms of income generation?

I think if you placed emphasis on the word southern and had home photo below in one one line. Maybe less emphasis on the house part...

For eg. www.corridorhomephotos.com (external link) (for inspiration only, I did not design this logo nor am I associated with this company)
