First shot with the thorns :( Careful stepping/landing indeed.
Beautiful little gem you have there.
I've never studied to see what is 'smallest' in the states. Hmmmm,
probably a warbler of some type I'd guess.
Beautiful capture as always.

Do hummingbirds count?

This is my 14 year old daughter who is also an avid photographer. She had top 10 finishes in all 3 of her individual events at the state YMCA meet this past weekend. This body paired with a 24-70 and a 70-200 f2.8 lens combo is terrific for indoor sports.

Everything moves away from the human Guy !! I have not met the animal that run's up and sit's on your lap. I just do my best to make it look like they are standing still and hanging out

Update:

For any of you who still run XP, or use CS3...

I have found a workaround for RAW editing, although it does require a purchase of Windows 7...

As you need DNG converter 8.7 or above to open 7DII Raw files, and DNG 8.7 or above will not work in XP, You can run it in Windows 7, which is what i'm doing (on a wee laptop) and converting the files there and then using them on my XP PC in Photoshop CS3...

Probably won't be of use to many, but you never know...

Thanks Keeperseeker indeed they are, the color of their beak is so unique and so different from their body and they swallow clams easy.
