After I photographed the screech owls, the Tropical Audubon people arrived from Wako.I hadnt joined them earlier because I'd dropped my wife off at a conference in Boca at 8 30. Did you see the American Bittern eating the snake? I would have liked that shot...

I was with the Audubon folks starting at Wako. I went to Wako on my own and just happened to see them gathering so I joined them as I like the group and always learn a lot from them on these walks.

I lost them after several hours at Green Cay so I dropped my camera off in my car (big mistake) and went back in to find them to say goodbye (they were off to Lox NWR) and found the bittern eating the snake. Saw it, but no photos. I did get these earlier while with the Audubon group with my new 100-400ii. There is a series of them on my flickr page. I like your flickr stuff, btw!!

...At least you saw the bittern eat. And I'm sure I saw you--nice pics of the heron..and I went to Lox with them where the great horned owls were a no show--the chicks evidently fledged the day before--we're off the Costa Rica for 9 days in Monteverde, so perhaps I will have some new wildlife images when I return on the 26th.
