keeperseeker Cream of the Crop More info | Thanks for all the owl likes guys. the nest had been built about 15 feet over a sidewalk,,,that would have constant regular foot traffic 7 days a week. Also beside a parking lot roadway. I was absolutely stunned that they would chose this spot for a nest. Never make a decision when you have to pee. L Cohen

Mar 14, 2016 10:00 | #10163 STIC wrote in post #17933590 Don't think so... I'm just converting the RAW to a DNG, then opening the DNG with Photoshop CS3. It's the exact same process as I used with the 7D but I have never noticed this before...There is definitely more 'image' in the frame with the photoshop output JPEG than there is with the in camera JPEG (a good 10-15mm worth of shoe)... Weird... ![]() There also seems to be some distortion of the centre of the image in the edited output JPEG which leads to to think there is a lens profile alteration going on in the background too, but this shouldn't result in me seeing more in the pp'd image than the camera output image...or should it??? Actually, you just found the culprit. Any in-camera settings for lens corrections will alter the jpeg and lose a bit in its jpeg frame in the output. Raw will not have the 'fixes'. Also, the jpeg file will no longer display the a time focus point after corrections.

nice framing on the second picture Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.
