Some great looking windows, another handsome watch, beads reflecting the photographer and what not. All great!! I had to laugh when I read "Obsidian" because my first thought was: "Obsidian Order" as in Cardassians!! See, that's what you get when you are a Star Trek fan! So I went to work tonight and tried out several things. I wanted the red from the curtains to get into the glass. I think I like this one best. Had some odd flashes showing in my right eye yesterday. Went to the doc today & he said it's vitreous separation.... something that can happen as we age. It's still freaky when you can't really see something clearly though. It makes focusing tough! Lisa, I had that happen to me last year February. When I went to my house doctor he made an emergency appointment for me at the hospital. The ophthalmologist on duty checked the eye and everything was all right. The flashes went away after a few weeks. Then in December of last year the other eye started having flashes. Skipped my house doctor and went straight to the ophthalmologist this time. All was well again. The thing is that flashes in the eye can indicate retina detachment. So be sure to have it properly checked by an eye doctor! lavanut Goldmember More info | Thanks for the comments, Levina. I did do a little googling yesterday and realized it could be bad, so I rested most of yesterday. When they hadn't gone away this morning, I called my regular eye doctor, and he fit me in today. They did a double set of dilation drops, so that wasn't fun, plus I really hate that bright light they shine in the eye. I know they have to do it, but it's very uncomfortable. The flashes have backed off a bit today, but the blurry floaters have increased. Ah, the joys of aging. These blurry things make it tough for photography though. My eyes are also getting very dry. The kinda odd thing is, I had my yearly eye checkup in January, and he didn't see anything then. Saturday I was fine. It's just weird how it happened all of a sudden. Yes, the dilation drops are a bit painful but enables a better view of the inside of the eye. It can take weeks or a few months even for the flashes to go away. It did for both my eyes, but they did stop eventually. As to the floaters, they are just marginally worse in my left eye but have increased almost dramatically in the right. So much so that it's getting in the way when photographing birds because a lot of the movement I think I see to the right are the floaters moving about. It's a problem and I plan to talk to my gp next time I visit him. FYI, this was my best obsidian cat photo. It was also light painted with my bright flashlight. I think I want to try shooting it in a light tent too. Hosted photo: posted by lavanut in ./showthread.php?p=17935703&i=i223832092 forum: Member Activities Cute cat, Lisa.
