So I returned my 85 1.2 since i found myself just using my 50 1.2 more. I have about 1800 in credit for BH. Was set on getting the 100L macro lens and a the sigma 20 art. I couldn't help myself but look at the 70-200L IS ii. Now thats looking more appealing idk what to do!

Of those three choices, I'd go for the Σ20mm f/1.4|A. I'm not sure if that helps you much, though.

I would totally go for the MPE-65mm.

Looking at your gallery I'd say go for the 70-200 II or a 135L.

What is your core subject matter?
I have the 70-200 v2 and it really is a great lens but it is big and heavy.

The mpe 65 is on my want list but is a specialist lens and I'm told is difficult to use.

I traded my 85 1.2 for a 24-70 2,8 v2 and whilst the background blur is light years apart, it is tack sharp and more versatile.
Actually, the 24-70 is, in lens terms, sexy.

A 70-200 is a very versatile lens and I can't imagine not having mine...

I have 6d and a t2i. Only lenses I have right now is the 50mm 1.2 and a 1.8. For photos I shoot mainly outdoor portraits and live bands in low light. For video I do live band sessions (one camera stationary.) Other camera used for close ups/details shots. (what i would use the macro for.)

So I was thinking of buying the 100L and A wide angle

or some sort of zoom, the 70-200 IS ii or the 24-70L ii.

Heya,

Well, do you want a bunch of lenses that are all going to be doing the same thing? Headshots? Do you want another lens that is just going to compete with the 50L too?

What do you actually need?

Going from a 100L macro to a 20mm ART ultrawide is a big red flag of G.A.S..

Very best,

Do you find you need something wider when shooting bands with the 50mm? If not, got for the 70-200mm II. No question about it.

The 135L is great if thats all the reach you need I love mine, and the f2 will help freeze action, the 70-200 f2.8 is a very, very versatile lens but IS will not help freeze action. But for video the 70-200 is the better lens. Since you have to control your shutter speed, the IS will help a lot, specially hand held. I also have the 50L and while it lives on my camera, my next lens will probably be the 85L, if I start doing more event work I will probably get the 70-200 f2.8 instead. As an example I took some pictures at a dimly lit venue with my 135L I got some good images but in that case since there was not a lot of fast movement at the same iso I could have got a closer framing and a slower shutter speed with no loss of sharpness. With the 135L you really need to keep your speeds above 1/125 .

purchased a brand new canon 135L from a authorized dealer last summer (used GreenToe). Paid $825 then mailed in a $50 rebate. Ended up paying $775 for lens. Definitely a "L" IQ lens.

But considering what you have I would not hesitate to get the 70-200. With the 135L your going to either be backing up or moving forward. 70-200 gives you more freedom and the IQ is on par with the 135L.
