Every week we select a new theme, and then go out and shoot that theme. This weeks the theme is Discarded. As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.

Go out and find some things that have been Discarded and take/make a photo and share it with us...

Here are the rules:
1. Shots need to be taken between Monday Sunset and the following Monday by Sunset (Whenever that is for you ). Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives. Snapshots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
2. Post your shots at any time during the week.
3. Post a maximum of two shots if you're uploading them to POTN (i.e., attaching them). You can post more than two if you're linking to shots that are not hosted by POTN (i.e. embedding them), but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size. A copy of the size rules can be found here: IMAGE POSTING RULES
That's it! Have fun! As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.
An index to previous weeks can be found here: POTN WORLDWIDE PHOTO WEEK INDEX

That's it!
Have fun!

My mistake on the last thread, I didn't read the rules, I had just seen the photo that Pete made of that old Mill and it looked familiar, so I had posted a shot I had taken a long time ago. To make amends I will try to contribute this week and follow the directions :D

Welcome Vertigo235! We look forward to your posts!

Here's a discarded (and pretty much destroyed) pencil I saw on the road outside my house today. I'm guessing one of the kids getting on or off the bus lost it.

I've also been playing with Topaz Impression a little lately. This is using the Pencil sketch filter on the photo. Thoughts? That's kind of a fun plugin to play with. :-)

Nice shots Lisa. I like the effect, it softens it quite nicely.

Discarded cars turned into art.

Well, I'm the odd one out, I much prefer the first version, Lisa. I like that pic quite a bit. It made me think of how extraordinary our writing tools actually are.

First one is a great shot of some brilliant art, second one is sad.

Have a couple shots in mind but with having surgery tomorrow, do not know if I will get to them. So, I took a quick walk to the nearest place I knew I could find something discarded. And, it did not disappoint. Creek runs right under a main road and there is a traffic light there also. So "some people" feel the need to discard items off the bridge while waiting on the light.

Iron Eyes Cody (from the crying indian litter campaign) would really be ashamed

Love this shot, Kevin!

Thank you very much Levina and Stina.
I really like this art piece.....it has made some folks think and
some do not care for it, as happens will all public art. We are
blessed here in this area with an abundance of great art.
The second shot is indeed a very sad reality here as well, I just
happened to be stopped at the light and looked over and
it hit me. We have far too many people here struggling
on the fringes of society.

Benitoite-love that shot....great idea.

Pete- great shot. Iron Eyes Cody would indeed be ashamed as
should be the person that threw that out.
