Renting this camera next weekend. Now i dont have fancey glass like most here do. But i plan to put this camera through its paces. Ideas what to shoot?

Airplanes at the airport and some shore birds on lake michigan. And a sunset while at the lake just because. Any other ideas?

I have an old slow focus 70-300, the 18-55 kit lens and a 100mm macro usm 2.8. Which is nice, but wont work for birds. Maybe at the airport. 70-300 for birds? Or the 100 be enough?

100 will be a little short for planes and birds.

I have been visiting the local Radio Controlled Aircraft facility, Dick Scobee Field in George Bush Park in Houston.. Lots of fast targets to test your panning technique and various focus settings. Not BIF but more plentiful and predictable targets. Just a thot.

These are with zone focus, all 65 points, AIServo and high speed continuous shooting, case 3 with Arthur Morris' parameters: -2,+2,+2. For big, slow birds, I would choose some different settings. I am new to this BIF stuff but these little planes are addictive subjects.

Wolf road dead ends at O'hare's north side just south of Higgins. You can park there and have enough focal length. The 70-300 will be a little long when the planes are at their closest and the 100 will be a little short where they touch down.

my gear: T4i - EF-s 17-55, Ef-s 55-250 is stm, EF-S 10-22 usm, ef 100mm 2.8 macro

Cool I flew R/C planes for years and have flown there many times. Nice place.
