Shipping is free 679 in Sony A mount might be really good but I have not really paid attention to this lens how does it stack up to the 70-400 G2 never had a A mount tamron, but EF mount worked great with metabones, AF would hunt very very occasionally. But it was fast enough for eagles in flight.

Mar 18, 2016 14:59 | #14964 ![]() eriet30 wrote in post #17939781 ![]() Thanks did some size comparisons and the tammy is a full pound plus on weight over the sony 70-400 and that 95mm front is huge. Think I may just have to rent the 70-400 and spend that rental money to make sure it is what I want And when I said Tammy would hunt very very occasionally not more often then it did on my 5DIII, so nothing to worry about.

(2 edits in all) | Mar 18, 2016 15:51 | #14966 The other night there was bright green aurora above my house but it was behind a layer of cloud. This was very far south and unexpected. I could see the green changing behind the clouds but couldnt actually see the aurora directly just the glow. I quickly headed out and drove to Loch Lomond in the hope of a break in the clouds but by the time I got there the green glow was gone and the cloud blanket was still there. I decided to take a photo since I was there. On the pier in this shot you can see other photographers when you zoom in who were there before I arrived, not sure if they caught any glimpses of the aurora or not. This was taken around 11:30PM with the samyang 24 IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/FirmPx![]() ![]() ![]() Sony α7RV | Leica Q2

(I missed it too and only found out about it when I saw a photo on Flickr from a woman on Skye taken earlier in the evening.)
