Great one Robert. Love those wings and wonderful colors. The wading bird rookery is going crazy down here.
Here are two more from this morning.

You know, I thought that at first too. Wood storks. They are HUGE. They are abundant here in Florida, and I see them almost every day. Evidently that are not as common as they used to be but you would never know it living in South or central Florida.

They are nesting now at our local wetlands and crowd out some of the other birds. But they grow on you after a while. Gentle pair bonds, strong parenting, very ungainly on land but supremely elegant in flight. Fun to watch stirring up the mud in the shallows while foraging for food items. Clever. They have "old soul" eyes.

Here is a pair on a nest taken yesterday

I have been visiting the local Radio Controlled Aircraft facility, Dick Scobee Field in George Bush Park in Houston.. Lots of fast targets to test your panning technique and various focus settings. Not BIF but more plentiful and predictable targets. Just a thot.

These are with zone focus, all 65 points, AIServo and high speed continuous shooting, case 3 with Arthur Morris' parameters: -2,+2,+2. For big, slow birds, I would choose some different settings. I am new to this BIF stuff but these little planes are addictive subjects.

These came out nice despite the bottom pilot looking a bit stiff in the shoulders. :D

Were they cropped much?

However, he is better than no pilot at all, imho.

The yellow plane, about 50% crop, the red and white plane, not so much. I was impressed that the AF ignored the wind sock.
