I suppose the responsible thing to do would be just buy a used/low-shutter count 5D III to hold you over till the upgrade comes, because the 5D IV/5DX - whatever it's called - is probably your camera. But, if you're not necessarily a high volume shooter (event/sports/wildlife shooters that take huge numbers of shots) then you might give the 5DS/R a try. I do love mine and Canon made it specifically for studio, architecture, and landscape shooters, but I know you're concerned about the huge files.

Yeah, I've really come to like having the option for high resolution. I'm thinking of getting a 5DS and then maybe a 5D4 or even something like an 80D for events and high volume shoots.

Anyway, I guess this really isn't a topic for this thread anymore. I'm kind of bummed because there was a lot I loved about the Sony A7 bodies.

David I'm glad you're still with us. I think the A7RII is one of the camera that's really hard to part with at this time.

My day is already ruined. So sick of those terrorist pricks. Luckily I don't live that close to Brussels (it takes about one hour to drive from my place to Brussels Airport in Zaventem).

Had another photoshoot yesterday just outside the Caretta Shidome shopping center in Tokyo. Two of my ballerina friends did tandem poses in this wonderfully executed, natural light photo shoot!

I will be leaving the A7 club. Had some more issues with my A7R II on a shoot tonight. This time the hotshoe was freaking out on me and not firing my triggers. It's possible it was the Pocket Wizards, but I never had this problem with my 5D3 before I sold it.

Now do I buy the 5DS or a new 5D3....which I just sold! I need something now before the 5D4 comes out.

why not check what actually caused the issue? defective pocket wizards is a most likelly issue.

So I was going to get the 16-35 sometime in the next couple of weeks, but am toying with the idea of the Loxia 21 instead? Is that a stupid idea? I'm most interested in the 16-25mm focal lengths, as I have 25mm+ covered

Glad you're OK Jocau and hope that's the last of the attacks over there. My parents were there two weeks ago.....

A 3 exposure pano shot using my Phantom 4 yesterday afternoon. I forgot to check the altitude but this was at least 250 ft. up.
