Zeiss Distagon T* 35mm f/1.4 ZM on Sony A7? Cameras - Images

I recently bought this Leica M mount lens for my A7R II body. I am using it with a Voigtländer VM II adapter.

Initial impressions - VERY sharp in the center, even wide open. Corners are predictably soft at largest aperture. Colors are true, with typical Zeiss contrast. Wide-open vignetting is quite pronounced.
It balances very well on A7R II. Feels substantial in hands, but form factor is much, much smaller, and better, than the Sony 35 1.4 ZA.

CA is noticeable when used wide open, but easily correctible. Looked for the corner smearing, or double-image “phenomena” - did not see anything.

Haven’t had much time to take it out, but here are a couple of initial shots. Both taken wide open.

The colors and contrast are typical Zeiss-like.

I just ordered my Zeiss 35 1.4 ZM with a novoflex adapter.
I have heard fantastic reviews of this lens. I really feel that this is better than the Zony fe 35 1.4 both in image and size.
Unfortunately it does cost substantially more but worth it.

Is the voightlander adapter easy to use with the lens and the A7R II? Is the fit smooth or does it feel tight.

I have the VM-II adapter. And it works beautifully with this lens, on A7R II. It fits just right, and there is no play afterword.
