The common buzzards (you may call them hawks in US), white-tailed eagles and suprisingly grey herons were clicked in my winter hide near my house, it is not a preserve. Yes I use bait in winter seazon mostly. I have spend there four last winters.

Nothing spectacular here. Just funny (not to the female mallard I am certain). This female mallard came flying in wide open with two males hot on her tail. One of them grabbed the tail and all three went into the water. They (yep, they) would hop on her back and try to mate with her. I thought they were going to drown her. I watched once as they kept her head under the water for a good 90 seconds. They would get to the edge, she would squirm out, then they would catch her and do it all over again. Went on for a good 10 minutes. Would not even post it but every time I look at it I think, "what exactly does the rear Mallard think he is doing" and a few other not so clean thoughts ensue......Reminds me of the doe and buck photo from a few years ago..... I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy it!!

AcademicNomad Senior Member More info | Mar 24, 2016 01:16 | #5050 Alright guys. How are you doing these in snow and in rain shots? This lens is not weather sealed. What I am missing here? I have got to read this entire thread. I am contemplating this lense but lack of weather sealing is holding me back. Desire to learn; a camera & a few other things.

There are actually covers you can put on that cover the camera and lens so it does not have to be weather sealed I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy it!!

After half hour of drying my lens in sun, everything was still working fine. I was shooting with this lens lot of times in heavy rain or snow and sometimes (usually when I forgot the rain cover) the water was coming inside the lens but never got broken
