I think better way is to make two exposures (first for the sky, second for the ground) and blend them later in post.

So I originally bought this lens to learn how to shoot astro-photography, but it's a blast to use for landscape daytime shots as well. The ultra-wide field of view is a lot of fun when walking around on the beach. I'll post up some of the night shots after I've had a chance to edit them. It's also great for selfies with an SLR due to the wide FOV and close focusing distances, which the wife likes since its a few more pictures of us together.

I took a few shots on the beach last week with the lens one day, and came away with some keepers. I'll need to use a tripod to help with some of the corner sharpness, but I was rather surprised after downloading these since they were just casual shots. (Being in the Maldives certainly didn't hurt the incredible scenery either though!).

The corner sharpness in the palm leaves was actually very good on this shot:

I've had this lens for a month or so now, WAY easier to use than i anticipated. The focus scale is totally accurate on my copy, despite many other user accounts. Indoors, shooting anywhere from f2.8-f5.6, I don't think I've missed focus yet. I've actually considered adding a 5DC just to keep this lens mated to a body during events.

I work for The Contemporary Austin - A contemporary art museum in Austin Texas.... Anyway, we had the Danish artist collective know as Superflex come and do a project for us on the grounds of our museum on the shore of Lake Austin. Jakob Fenger, Rasmus Nielsen and Bjørnstjerne Christiansen are the members of this collective and they did an installation of "lost money" yesterday. We will fabricate the coins that they laid out and permanently attach them. Fun project.
