Random thought. Sucks that MSRP prices aren't coming down in the US, since the dollar is clearly stronger. Can get good deals buying internationally.

My last three acquisitions (2 bodies and 1 lens) came from Canada and saved me some serious money.

I recently purchase a Zeiss 50 C sonnar i Leica mount from Aden in Toronto and the owner said that there were going to be substantial increases in the prices across the board. Interestingly the price of Zeiss glass has gone up substantially over the last couple of years, the Zeiss Distagon 15 2.8 that I purchased a couple of years ago for $2600 is now $4200 and the Otus 55 has gone from $3999 to $5779. I guess they have turned out to be a reasonable investment.

Thanks. It came down to this or the FE 16-35 down to the last minute. The size of the Loxia won me over. Very diminutive lens that I see myself bringing out more often than the zoom. Plus I browsed my flickr albums in times when I owned 16-35mm lenses....and I find a lot of my travel and landscape shots happen at 20mm and 35mm.

Perfect logic.
I kept toying with adding a prime wide angle for the Iceland trip but decided that the FE 16-35 will have to do.
Monies that could have gone into another lens will be put toward some little photo flights while in country if
the weather will cooperate. Besides I like the FE 28/2 but I doubt it's going. I think whatever I shoot Sony
wise will be with the 16-35 or the 70-400gii.
Now if I was smart I'd get the FE 24-70 and be done with it.
Oh, forgot the 55/1.8 It is going.
