Mar 24, 2016 20:26 | #2 Can't comment on the 5DII as I have never even used one. I have the 6D, also very difficult to compare as the only other camera I've had is the 70D. Both the 70D & 6D seem to be very good quality sensors' wise. With all that said, it seems most people will recommend the 6D over even the 5DIII for some instances, unless you need the ruggedness of the 5D series. The 6D does extremely well in low light and the camera is not that big or heavy.

Mar 24, 2016 22:13 | #3 to generalize the 6d is considered to have better pic iq than even the 5d3 which already is better than the 5d2. Outside of price considerations I dont see why anyone would choose the 5d2 over a 6d. The 6d is a 5d2 with better high iso and pic quality and most importantly no banding. However the 5d3 does have a great af system which both the 5d2 and 6d are severly limited in. I think this summarizes the main differences between these 3 models. 6D; canon 85mm 1.8, Tamron 24-70mm VC, Canon 135L Canon 70-200L is ii

Mar 25, 2016 10:06 | #6 Mostly going to use it for portraits , landscapes and product photography. I have the 7dm2 for wildlife and birds. The 60d is now on the west coast with my son so i was looking to step up to a full frame camera. Mar 25, 2016 19:52 | #9 Had the 5D Mk1 and have used the 5DMk2 s well as the 6D. Life is for living, cameras are to capture it (one day I will learn how!).

Mar 26, 2016 02:32 | #10 My 6d is great. It doesn't get used as much as my 5dIII now that I have it because of theAF, dual cards, and bigger LCD. I'd probably pay $500 tops for a used 5dII in stellar condition. If someone wanted more than that I'd go for the 6D, which should be below $1k by now. I paid $1,500 for mine. Mar 26, 2016 12:20 | #12 Definitely go with a 6D. The new features of the 6D are worth a couple extra bucks. If you can get a 5d2 for ~$6-700 it might be worth it. A used 6D is going for $900+ Trevor - Canon 6D Mark 2 / Canon 28mm 1.8 USM / Canon 35mm 1.4L / Canon 50mm 1.4 USM / Canon 135mm F2L

Mar 26, 2016 14:01 | #13 If you are considering used, might as well consider refurbished. Check with Canon periodically and they have it for $1,099, last time I saw it somewhere(it might have been Canon's website) for $999. You get full warranty if bought refurbished from Canon.

Mar 26, 2016 21:13 | #14 Both great cameras, owned them both and was pleasantly surprised by the 6D, it did seem the 5D is a much better build. You can't go wrong either camera but Id sway towards a newer 6D
