Ok, I need a duck ID please. Is this little fellow in the first 2 pics a Ruddy Duck who's bill just isn't very blueish? It's about 1/3 the size of a mallard drake.
These are all shot with the 100-400II with the 1.4xII.

Finally. After 3 months of setting up the shot, 27 hours in a blind (though for this shot I was actually out of the blind but next to it), and in a split second I finally got a picture of the hawk flying toward
me. I've got plenty of hawks on limbs or flying overhead but this was the goal....not perfect but proof of concept-

Thanks Colin. This one was in an Alder tree in WWT Arundel but they are all around at the right time of year - I have even had them on the feeders in our garden often mixed in with Siskins.

Thanks Lester and Peter. Found three photos from a couple weeks back. Using my Canon EF 500mm f/4 IS Mk I and concentrating on portraits.
Happy Easter.

That was my initial thought Larry but the duck in question is the male of the pair, it's smaller than a Bufflehead as well.

Here's a pair of Buffleheads

IMAGE: https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1644/25988513681_e6854e7a84_b.jpg

Here's the pair in question. I think they have to be Ruddy Ducks, look at the stiff tail under water and the reddish coloration of the male's back.
