Oh my, that's a lot of money, Jo. Are you sure you want to have them do that? And how come if you have such a low shutter count, they don't do it for free? I know they would over here. After all, a 1DIII is a pro camera with a high shutter life expectancy (or whatever that is called in English) and your camera is not anywhere near that. I would fight them over this.

Amen to that, sister.

I am told it is out of warranty.
I have not really put that much use on the camera since I got it.
To me it is worth it. I had the discussion the morning.

Caught this before I had my surgery. Just got around to looking at it. Nothing spectacular here. Just funny (not to the female mallard I am certain). This female mallard came flying in wide open with two males hot on her tail. One of them grabbed the tail and all three went into the water. They (yep, they) would hop on her back and try to mate with her. I thought they were going to drown her. I watched once as they kept her head under the water for a good 90 seconds. They would get to the edge, she would squirm out, then they would catch her and do it all over again. Went on for a good 10 minutes. Would not even post it but every time I look at it I think, "what exactly does the rear Mallard think he is doing" and a few other not so clean thoughts ensue......Reminds me of the doe and buck photo from a few years ago.....

Like I said, too far away for anything useful but thought I would share

I took the 14 y/o boys down some double black diamond runs, and they are rocking. It was a little nerve-wracking hanging off the edge of a mogul, as even my poles would slide down the mountain. I'd hate to have my pack start going down. I dropped a water bottle, and it was bouncing down at like 60mph until we couldn't see it any more. It's tough to convey the steepness in photos.

Beaver Creek, CO fireworks show. I set my homemade mini-bean bag on a ledge as camera support to take this one. I didn't bother bringing a tripod.

The book pictured is redundant to me (I sold my 1D3 over a year ago), so if you want it, drop me a message with your address and I'll send it to you by snail mail ...

Picked up an old EF 35-80 f4-5.6 at a thrift shop for $10. The thing looks like new. Took a couple of test shots of the new leaves sprouting on my pear tree. Can't complain for the price.
This was at 80mm f5.6

Thanks. I was quite impressed for an older lens. This was a sooc jpeg. In camera sharpening was set at 4. I shoot raw + jpeg but I wanted to see what the camera would produce.

Thanks. I don't know why, but I keep drifting back to the 1D3. I rented a couple cameras over the last few months and just can't get over the feel of the 1d3 over the others and the pictures look pretty good also. I wish I could afford a mk4, but maybe one day.
