A couple more from the same day trip.

First one doing a sideways tumble - so difficult to get them doing that lol but I was quite pleased with this one. Next, one of them coming in to land.

Not had a lot of practice on birds in flight with the 7D MkII + 100-400 Mk II combo since buying at end of last summer - previously used 7D MkI and 400L prime - but I am liking this combo :-)

A great camera/lens combo you have there, Linda.
Your first, tumbling Lapwing shot has caught the bird so well :-)

Many thanks Russ - I had many discarded shots too lol. Yes, very pleased with it for the limited amount of time I have used it for birds (did dragonflies with it at the end of last season). Its the first real run I have had with it for the birds and hoping to get some Tern pics soon when more arrive in the UK. Kept the other cam for my macro stuff, it saves chopping and changing.

Many thanks much appreciated. Yes they can be difficult and often too far away but they are a joy to watch and listen to - could watch them for hours lol

Many thanks, really appreciate that. Yes, their calling is wonderful - at one point, one of them flew incredibly close to the hide and the sound of their wings was amazing. Never had one fly that close to me before, it was fabulous.
