Thank looks nice.
The idea I had won't work for that. Just looking at it, it's made for removal of plates that are laying flat.

Hanging the metal lath by myself was the hardest part so far. I thought I'd get to the scratch coat today, but didnt.

Because that's where the wife wants it. Need I say more? She plans on putting that yellow couch below it - which I don't really understand why she wants to cover up all my work.

Anyone have anything I can repair a tuft button with? The couch popped one. There's this syringe type tool that lets me refasten it, but it's like $50.

Repaired the 35L through Bromfield. Didn't feel like spending $100 for the CPS membership this year. Cost me about $280 to repair. They said the focus barrel needed to be replaced.

Smart guy. This is how you guarantee a long and happy marriage! I learned from experience that there are only two acceptable answers to the wife: It is either "Yes", or "Yes, honey". Both work miracles!

Ah, the three little words that make every woman immensely happy, but every guy chokes on..

"you were right."

In photography related news, I'm apparently picking up a 300 f/2.8L (and a 1.4x tc) for $1900. It's the lens I used for the Revs.. don't know when I'll be shooting again since I'm a season ticket holder now, but you never know when that phone will ring.

Nice, Bernie. I literally just sold my 70-200 a couple of hours ago. It hurt. I repaired it last year, but haven't used it since. It went cheap, too, because the front element was scratched.

Seems like I have a black cloud..after my 5D 3 **** the bed covering a Trump event for work (what a place for it to die, maybe it committed suicide), my 70-200 2.8L IS died at an event on Friday. sent to canon, and WITH my 30% discount, it would be 958 to fix. That thing is worth like 1000 on a good day, when it's working. Time to upgrade I guess...

Yeah, I've been following prices lately and it's been dipping over the past few months. $1100 about 6 months ago. I didn't know whether to let it go then or not. I bought the lens used back in 2008 for $1400. Found the receipt from the original owner and he had bought it for $1800 earlier that year. I spent almost $400 repairing it a year ago, so I guess overall I spent the same.

It had a mark on the front element, so I dropped the list price to $950 (cheapest unmarked glass on POTN was $1000, so I went with that as a baseline). I sold it on Craigslist for $900 (figured I at least saved on shipping and fees). I got 8 years out of the lens, so say I "rented" it for $100 a year :-P
I quote Scott below:

Scott, that sucks man. Problems, in any area of life, seems to come in batches. Your insurance covers everything you need, right?

I decided not to renew my CPS from last year. I didn't think that the numbers really worked out for me.

Not using insurance for this one. $500 deductible PER occurrence, I thought it was annual. They said that if I put a second claim in, in one policy term, I'll be permanently dropped. What's the point of insurance then....

What's the point of a per occurrence deductible, even? Would it be cheaper to pay for repairs yourself than the monthly premium?
