By Thursday, there's a good chance of rain over the course of several days so I took advantage of the warm weather today...

Grilled ribeye steak topped with a garlic butter sauce and home grown green onions. Served with green beans and potatoes on the side.

I commend you for having saved the first bite for after the first shutter release ... or did you?

Fortunately, I had everything all set up to take the shot so it didn't take long between the cut - shoot - bite. :-)

Oh, I realize my w/b is a bit on the warm side but I think it looks more appetizing this way with the steak cooked rare.

The medium rare is okay, but definitely would clean up that blood up next time. Just use a paper towel and soak it up.

Also that random chive on the plate looks sloppy.

Trying a new style from me

Yes, that looks friendly and welcoming. The more formal shots that you usually post--I guess those are the ones sold to publications--are so uniformly sharp as to make all the textures look alike.

Thank you, i am getting a bit tired of top down type shots. So wanted to try something new.

The ribeye steak I photographed just for my own enjoyment. I left the random cut from the green onion on the plate so that the image wouldn't look too contrived but I probably should have removed that flake of black pepper on the far left of the plate. The juices from the steak that I cooked rare mingled with the melted butter and looks fine to me. It sure tasted fine at any rate. :-)
