People were not willing to have their pictures taken when we were travelling through Ecuador. Did you find that also in Guatemala.

With many of the indigenous peoples I did encounter this. I did have to pay a dollar or so for ones I really wanted...then there was always using my telephoto zoom surreptitiously.

Great captures, all of them.

Ipenema Bach loks like a horrible place to spend a day, however that certainly doesn't take away from the quality of the image...

The laundry worker shot is perfect, the fabric she is holding leads the eye to her. The fact that the woman is strikingly handsome also adds to the image.

The monk really adds to the Luang Prabang image.

Re: the last image: I wonder if a slightly darker vignette might not put more attention on the center subject and eliminate the distracting commotion at the edges...

The telephoto lens compresses the subjects making it look more crowded than it is. The beach is fun because the people are fun. No taboos about drinking - people are social.

Truth be told the photo has NO added vignetting. The subject was illuminated by the sun pouring through a gap in the corrugated steel ceiling

As the late, great Yogi Berra is reputed to have said, "Nobody goes there anymore. It's too crowded."

A couple of shots here. A friend about to give a presentation when his wife appears to wish him good luck.
