Went out last night to try and capture the city under some green lighting. I'm not quite sure if I'm happy with this one but I was a little spooked being out there by myself at sundown. For me it's quite unusual to have this vantage point to myself. I did make my way around to the bottom of the Memorial for an interesting capture that I hope to post later this week. The Western Auto sign was out of commission so I chose to frame the image towards the left of the skyline.

Interesting colors. Makes for different with the fountain out of commission also. I saw the sign was going down. Went down to take pictures before my surgery and half the lights were out on it. Was disappointed.

That's scary looking. What did you do? Out of focus on the first and some kind of movement blur on the 2nd?

Interested in hearing the backstory here. It is very spooky like Tracy mentioned.

I posted four images from my spring break getaway to Big Sur, CA. If you all have a chance I would love for you to view that thread.

It's entitled Big Sur Adventures under this same area of Urban Life and Travel.

Thanks.

Just trying to explore new ground. I bought a photo book at Half Price Books by Viggo Mortensen (of LOTR fame); he's a very good photographer and he uses out of focus images a lot in the book, so I thought I'd give it a try. I also like the work of Ruth Thorne-Thomsen, who did a series of out of focus statues. It's a bit harder than you might think to achieve the right combination of movement and mystery. I'm not quite there yet, but it was fun to experiment.

Liked em! Very nice shot of the bridge and cliffs.
I've never been to Big Sur but would like to go someday. May be in my future next year...

I've wanted to capture this image for quite sometime now. When I drive to my Northland home I see an image similar to this in my rear view mirror. The problem is that I'm not in an elevated space to be able to capture the perfect shot. There are usually about 6-8 lanes of trains occupying the space. Thus the best I could do is this.

A friend and co-worker passed away and his funeral was today. He was 33 years old and died of melonoma. I thought it was fitting to post this one today as he was an avid nature lover and adventure had to be his middle name. He was welcomed home upstairs in Heaven.

I agree. I love the Kauffman Stadium shot. I wouldn't be surprised if you get contacted for sale.
