Yes but locally we just refer to it as Wells. It's not like there is anywhere else important called Wells. OK I know there's that little place down in zummerzet, but that hardly counts:lol:.

I have to say that I was based at RAF Locking, just outside Weston-Super-Mare, to do my RAF radar training and spent about two years living in that part of the world in total. Although it was called Avon back then. A really nice part of England, although thanks to the timing of the courses I managed to spend three consecutive winters down there, and only one summer. December 83 to May 85 and then September 85 to March 86. Spent the rest of my RAF career based at a radar station in the middle of the Norfolk Broads. And I'm still here twenty four after leaving the RAF.

Nearly bought a new house last year at "Locking Parklands"

As for OUR Somerset WELLS it is a nice place with a stonkin' Cathedral and Bishop's Palace unlike Wells-Next-The Sea which really ought to be called Wells-a-mile-of-mud-from-the-sea!
 :p
