I see this thread for what it is. So I don't mind the often off-color banter that most likely directly gives us the entertaining titles. No one can complain when one gets a title due to commentary in the Title Fairy thread. I also agree that we're pretty friendly, for an online forum. Would we all get along if we met in person, probably, must have weekend friends? Probably not. I've probably called Charles, Chuck as well, with nothing more then a playful usage. I obviously wouldn't mind being called Chester because it's not my real name. So I can't compare the affect.

What I find troubling is this is heading for bad feelings and a permanent departure. That's part of this forum I don't like. We all have off days where we feel a bit sensitive to comments and our own comments are harsh by intent. But that usually clears and all is well. I've had trouble stepping away, probably steams from a small internet addiction. Happily I asked for a 1 year sabbatical a couple years ago and couldn't post but only sit back and read what was going on. It was worth it as it added clarity to my fragile existence on this very friendly forum.

I just don't want to see anyone make a dumb decision out of a bad day with permanent repercussions. If you need a break take one, if you need help with a break ask for one. I'm not sure it would be offered, but we've lost many valuable members due to a bad day. And I for one look forward to the time I spend with you kids.

Nice commentary. Maybe we actually needed it. Time for a title change, Chester.

My title goes well with my avatar. It helps with my type of shtick.

Chet, Dang, after reading this post I may very well need to drop out from Following this thread, since you seem to be trying to be half-way serious! First, of course, I may Report you (and this post)...

I will say that I would hate it if OhLook drops out!

Thanks for blowing up the picture. It had looked kinda like Dr. Phil. But that might be fitting as well.

To be honest, I would, too. We seem to butt heads on a regular basis... but still.

Chet, I appreciate your good intentions at peacemaking, but this isn't a matter of a bad day. It's an accumulation of things. That "undersexed and oversensitive" comment sealed the deal. I'm not leaving POTN as a whole, just giving up on this thread.

You know, I do sincerely apologize for that. I almost left it as suggesting you start your own thread, but I should have left out the suggested title, at least. That was uncalled for.

As far as the accumulation of things... well, that's the nature of the beast. And you can take that to mean either me, or the thread.

Well I hope she accepts it in the spirit that it was intended. I'm getting ready to go to lunch, and I won't be back until, say... Saturday.

Feel free to talk amongst yourselves.

Hey, I talk to myself way too often, and don't need any encouragement there!

And, to go a step further, suggesting that I "Feel free to talk amongst yourselves" suggests that, well, I may be dealing with multiple personalities! Well, excuse me, but the only people that can make that suggestion are family and the close friends who actually know me!!! :)

Boy, I'm glad we don't have BB guns - we'd all be getting pelted.

Take a break - take a breath.... take a sip of nice single malt.

Is there a double or triple malt?
