Definitely a scam. The same ad was posted on Cleveland's Craigslist. I figured it was a scam, but eventually decided to send him a message anyhow. I ended up getting an email a couple days later around 2am mentioning that the seller was about to board an airplane (how convenient!) and needed my personal email as he no longer was at his work computer.

Pops up all over the US states.

Showed up in San Diego too.

I emailed him last night just to see what would happen. Haven't heard anything. Told him I would trade my 5d3 and a 50mm 1.8 lol.

Nothing yet. Don't know if they'll say anything.

I have not replied to that ad, but have done so for other ads. Typically they wait two-four days before replying with some scheme. I then will go and blacklist their ads whenever I find them. I'm curious as to why they wait so long to reply? Does anyone know?

Probably too busy "seeding" other ads for a variety of gear across the forums, sites and other social media. For some it's a real industry.

That makes sense, however, I thougth it was to give the ads time to "expire, age out, etc" in the respective sites. I have only come across them in Craigslist.

Could very well be. But if it's a deal that is too good to be true, that's because it isn't.

Why would you reply to the ad after confirming it is a scam?

I emailed the seller and got the same response (about to board on an airplane) I ended up bought a Brand New from BH, just to be on the safe side
