A cold bee fly

Made an unexpected find in the garden the other morning, a cold and slightly damp bee fly clinging on to a camellia bud.
Of course I couldn't resist a photo opportunity. All shots except the last one are focus stacked using zerene.
600D/sigma 105 OS, 5dmk2/MPE-65/430Ex flash. All handheld.
I'll post some cross-eye stereos in a separate post.

Great set Brian and I particularly like the last shot. Beeflies are great little characters. I still haven't seen one yet this year.

Aww poor thing - wonderful shots and I just love that fur detail. Dam weather, needs to stop pouring down lol.

My vote is for the last frame as well, and not just because I don't focus stack. Seeing those wings in action, and the overall light and composition set it apart 8-)
