A few photos of the bride from a beautiful Chinese wedding I photographed yesterday. I'd never photographed a wedding before and I was SO nervous!!

i just purchased this lens.. dont know if its the lens or me.. but i find it a bit tricky at 1.8 trying to nail focus
so far i do like the lens very much , just , yeah i dont have the steadiest hands for 1.8

My 85 1.8 is one of the most accurate lenses I own. It's tied, at the top, with my 35L and 135L. Have you tried any AFMA adjustments?

Not sure "steady hands" is such a factor for f1.8. To the contrary, it'll allow for faster SS.

Ultra shallow DOF can be a real challenge that requires careful attention to precise pre-focus. On moving subjects its pert-near impossible to really nail it without some real skill and awesome in-camera AF - and maybe even some lens calibration for minute front/back focus issues. Distance-to-subject is also a huge factor (in DOF determination). 85mm f1.8 from say, 25', isn't so shallow.

Install working out nailing the focus with this one too. I just rant through Focal and has the micro adjustment done on it . I will say that I've had the mist fun with this one in the house with the kids. This guy has about had it with me and does anything he can to deep 6 the photo
