A rescued mining bee found in the conservatory this morning - no idea how it got in there other than it could have got in my peg box lol.

Anyway, a bit chilly for it really so gave it some sugar water and popped it on a flower pot so that it has some cover.

Think its Andrena bicolor - male.

Thanks George. Yes, they are dear little things and hate to see them in trouble.

Love that first frame Linda!

Did it hatch in your conservatory?

Thanks John. I don't think so - the only thing I can think of how it got in was either on my pegs or my son had been putting 3 pots outside in the sun with tomatoe seedlings in. It could have got chilly, rested on the soil and he didn't see it when he brought them in the previous evening. One of the bee guys on the BWARS Facebook page said it looked a bit faded - I don't know any different so have to go with what he said.

Linda

PS. I just got lucky with that first frame as I popped it on the Bottlebrush shrub while I made up the sugar water. It started walking along that twig so grabbed a couple of pics in case it flew off.
