Hi,

I'm looking for a good Canon EF Lenses adapter for my Sony A7 I.

I need an adapter with Autofocus function.

My preferred lenses are the Canon 135/2.0 and Canon 70-200 4L and probably Sigma 35mm 1.4

Metabones is the best but even then it's not that good. You need one of the mark II A7 bodies to get good AF with EF lenses.

With the original A7 it's best to stay with native lenses or go full manual.

This. Af on canon lenses is basically useless unless you have an a7ii or a7rii.

For the lenses you listed you will need a metabones iv

Hope others can provide u with specific info re A7, as an A7ii owner, Metabones IV, if there is only limited tech difference in performance b/w adapters on your A7, id still suggest considering the Metabones to future proof your investment.

Here's an interesting tech cross post on the topic, http://www.fredmiranda.com …pic/1342176/1#lastmessage (external link)

Good luck

the comlite works pretty good,i have one for my a7 and it works ok with my 70-200 and sigma canon lenses,i also have a viltrox and it works good to,they both unfortunately don't have a usb for updates, they are about 1/4 the price of metabones and for the few times i want the canon lenses they work just fine,

You should be able to get near native speed CONTRAST AF on the 135 and 70-200 using the Techart III / Saker Falcon Lite adapter in fn mode. It doesn't work well with 35 Art.

Otherwise to use phase AF/ decent AF speed w/ other adapters you will need an A72 (with firmware 2.0)/A7R2/A6300 currently. Commlite adapter is really solidly built. More solid than Techart and especially Fotga but with heavy lens flaring. Techart has very little flare for an adapter.

Canon 5DII - Canon 24-70 L 2.8
Canon 7D - Canon 40STM 2.8
Canon FT - 55 1.2

Have got the metabones iv for a7 but AF is really slow, I would go for native lens instead if not a7ii body would be a better choice.

Metabones, but I suggest you try it first before investing in it.

I have three adapters, the TechArt, the Viltrox and the latest Meikon. Meikon gives me the best aF with all lenses including 135L focuses instantly on A7rII. Sadly its mechanical property leaves much to desire for. I cannot unscrew my 17-40L from the adapter:-(

The upcoming adapter from Sigma MC11 must be the best adapter of all kinds.
