Just ordered a minolta 35-70 3.5 macro on a complete spur of the moment whim. Will be looking to use it as an f/8 landscape lens

Eddie, is it July already? :-P

doh, I was going to wait a while like eddie, but I already picked up a few other lenses as well. My philosophy is that if it costs less than $500, it didnt count :p

I think I'm going to sell my EF 24-70 2.8II and 70-200 2.8II and pick up the 24-70GM and the SEL 70-200 F4.

I have some weddings in the pipeline, and I've been shooting enough events that its starting to make sense to part ways with these two. They work well for controlled shooting in good light...but things can get hairy in very dynamic environments in bad light.

F4 is sufficient for the 70-200 given the bokeh you get from the FOV compression, and the low-light performance of the a7rII (which is more usable at high ISO by 2+ stops vs my old 5DIII). Plus I dislike the size of 70-200 f2.8 zooms and don't use them as much as I should outside of event shooting.

adorama has the $200 gift card deal I think, makes it a nicer deal.

Yeah I saw that. I really want to wait until I get these two lenses sold before I do anything though...so hopefully there are more deals down the road. I'm sending them both to Canon to get checked out before-hand since I still have a CPS gold membership.

so, this weekend I learned a valuable lesson...SD cards are flippin fragile...I snapped the insides of one...putting it into a GEPE hard case. Thankfully, I had already downloaded all of the images from it, I needed a card and that one was full so I was putting it back in the case to grab an empty one...snapped the internals, and now it won't read on anything...need to come up with a new storage solution for SD cards...I was so used to the robust nature of CF cards.

buy a friggin big ol card and swap less. I have a pair of 128gb's (sometimes I do videos), the main one is in the camera, the secondary one is a backup for the times I forget the main one at home for whatever reason :-P I dont ever keep them in any hard cases.

I have 4 32 GB cards...I don't want to go any bigger than that. I don't like to get an entire trip on one card...hell, I switch them daily...just don't trust having everything on one big card...never have, and never will. It would suck to lose one day of a trip, but to lose an entire trip if one card took a crap on itself...that would be unimaginable.

A little black and white from the last trip...still working through images. Was out all weekend with the family on a little spring weekend...

Shot with the Sigma 20ART...not what it makes me tag it in the forum software. The 20ART actually had some intermittent operations issues with the Metabones and Sony, after hitting the shutter release it would act like it was taking a photo and then the camera would cycle all the way off and then back on with no image captured. It was really weird. most times another cycle of the power reset it all...a couple times I had to re-seat the lens. When I finally order this lens, I will get the Sigma adapter to use on it and the 50ART.

That's odd. Is your metabones up to date? I got this issue with the viltrox adaptor on my sigma 85 but it was fine with metabones (and so is my 35 art)

Haha that went out the window ages ago. I had to sell my TSE 24 as it didn't work properly on my sony and used the money to buy the 35 art and a fuji x100t. So figured since I already broke the amnesty I may as well go for it. It was only £110 and is pristine in original box with manual etc. Too good to pass

I was ready to jump on that deal, but when I checked that deal last night on Adorama, it was listed as "We are sorry, this item is no longer available"

Last I checked, yes, it was up to date. Might check again. It did not happen on the A7R when I had it.

It is the only lens I have had the issue with, everything else works fine, including the 50ART. It was not a one time issue either, every time I would mount the 20ART, it would happen, and not just once. It was not predictable, but it was certain to happen. Not like it stopped me, I still shot with it over and over again. I meant to check the lens contacts to see if they were dirty, never remembered to.
