Is there a way to shoot P and have the camera automatically do a 1/3 over exposure over what it says? I of course don't want to do a FEB. I want to be able to set the exposure compensation to a +1/3 so it will always do a 1/3 over exposure on any exposure it chooses.

oldvultureface Goldmember  More info | Apr 07, 2016 20:51 | #2 Assuming your camera is set for one-third stop exposure settings, hold down the Av button and rotate the main dial clockwise one click. It's explained on page 119 of the camera's manual.

It's explained on page 119 of the camera's manual. I tried that and a separate scale comes up and when I turn the dial two marks show up dividing, in other words, it is doing the adjustment for AEB. Just pressing the AV button does nothing to the exposure scale on the screen, it starts the process of AEB.

As you have discovered, you are playing with bracketing. DO NOT TOUCH THE Q-BUTTON. From a standard "I'm ready to take a photo" situation, press the AV button (+/-), and turn the front dial. That adjusts the EC. Got it, hey it works. thanks everyone.
