Managed to get about 15 metres from this heron, he was catching small fish he then took off unexpectedly to another clearing again not far from me. Happened all of a sudden but managed to get a few good snaps.

Hey folks, anyone know what's a good monopod for this lens and a 1DX? Thinking in terms of classical concert photography (think choir / orchestras from way back in stands), field sports and maybe safari use.

I've heard good things about the gitzo monopod gm5561t but that's really expensive. Does that work? Any alternatives?
