I was under the impression that it's not the computer itself that's slow to tether with LR but rather USB2.0 and LR itself. I've heard (not tried) that Capture1 is much better for tethering.

I'm afraid that there's no way I'd give up my MBP for a Windows machine.

thats absolutely fine, im not expecting you to. Macs have a lot of great features. Dont get me wrong. The design is amazing and the trackpad is great too. The retina screen is great. But its just not powerful enough for me.

My new laptop arrives today. I also ordered this monitor

Ill post pics and how it is Monday. Im really looking forward to it.

Don't hear of many going from Mac to PC.

I recently bailed on the PC and purchased my first Macbook Pro. Extremely happy at this point but need to find a 25-27" monitor at some point.

I just was never really a fan of mac, never have been. I had the retine imac at work too, the screen was great but for almost 3k it only came with 8gb of ram which was ridiculous.

That's an absolutely sick laptop. So it truly does have 32GB of ram? I'm tied to FCPX like a canon ball so I can't leave my mac. I have no more brain power to learn any new software.
