34 paddy wagon,
I was riding around in the desert with my dogs and camera gear .
I seen someone sitting with their back to the dirt road.

It was really hard to see the person and I was way out in the desert, so I stopped and backed up.
At first I thought the person was sick or drunk so I asked if they were ok out of my pickup window.

It was a woman and she said she was taking a break, her pickup had ran out of gas and she was walking into town.
She was in her mid 50's and said she had a heart condition so she would walk a little ways then stop and take a break.

She was still about 15 miles from town and out here towns are few and far between and had already walked a good 10 miles .
Well leaving a woman in the middle of the desert with a heart condition walking just isn't right even if she was headed in the direction I just came from.

Long story short I took her into town to a gas station , she bought a gas can and some gas and I took her to her pickup that was about 30 miles out in the desert.
She had bought some land out in the desert OFF THE GRID and started to store her stuff on this property .
One of the things she had out there was this 34 paddy wagon which she allowed me to photograph.

Main reason I was out there was to photograph this wind mill I found in the sand dunes.

I found this classic truck while I was out shooting the fall foliage. Felt like I won the lottery! It says International on the hood.

This one is really forgotten. I found this when I was a kid living in the mountains of North Carolina about 1960. It appears to be a mid 30 Lincoln. The building was much more intact when I first discovered this but in the following 40 years or so the building collapsed on it and eventually it was swallowed by nature. You can see the grille and the right side of the hood to the left. It's still there although it would take considerable digging to find it. This was shot on film in the early 1980s.
