Going there for a week next month to visit the grandsons. Can't wait - the opportunity to shoot Paris in spring!

No where else!

Canons to the left, Canons to the right,
We hold our L glass toward the light,
Digitizing in a snap reflective glory
That will forever tell our imaged story.

Cool looking effect. What filter or process did you use to create this?

Thanks. I use Photoshop CS6, the oil paint filter, and color enhancement to create the effect.

Louvre at night. It was raining, I put on a protective filter, and here is the result - spots of reflection. One needs to remember where to use filters, I guess!

Very nice pics Vladdo. Where is Napoleon's Tomb? My family and I are going to London/Paris this summer and I'm looking at places to visit and ideas for the photos.

Napoleans Tomb is actually part of the Musee de l'Armee.. It's a large complex of buildings containing military museums including the tomb. We planned for half a day there and it turned into a full day. It is unbelievably massive in scope from all periods.

It is more known as the Invalides. It is located at metro Invalides. There is a beautiful view from the entrance - you will see Alexandre Bridge, Grand Palaice, Petit Palaice, a lot of photo opportunities. Rodin museum is just a couple of minute walk away, with beautiful grounds.

The Napoleon's tomb is probably the most visually stunning site in Paris. Don't miss it.

I found that patience is truly a virtue in Paris. It is hard to get shots that don't have people in it. Sometimes one needs to incorporate the people into the scene.

Here are a few from a recent trip:

You do need to wait a bit in Paris. Your choice of time will also play a large factor. You can get the Trocadero square empty if you go early enough. I think about 5 or 6am, just after the sun has risen. Otherwise squares at night become empty the later into the night it gets. Just be warned that they turn off most decorative lights at midnight. So things like the Arc or the Tower will switch off.
