Does anyone know if the TT685 will also be cross-compatible with Sony or do you have to buy a brand specific flash with that model?

I think it is really great that you can keep your ad600/ad360II flashes regardless of which of the 3 big camera brands you use. The cross-compatibility of the TT685 would complete the whole eco-system for me in that regard.

The shoe mount speedlites have to be camera specific because the control contracts are manufacturer specific.
With the AD360, the base with the shoe mount is interchangeable so there will be manufacturer specific versions but its possible to change the base from one to another.
The AD600 is firmware only so will work with any of the three.

The X1 trigger/receivers are also camera manufacturer specific because they have hot shoe and hot foot that has to match the camera. While it would be nice for Canon receivers to work with Nikon trigger, I doubt that they will have multiple firmware TTL capabilities.

Tried to change the hotshoe foot and the green contact board needs to be changed as well.

The canon can fire the Nikon v860IIn and the Sony V860IIs in full canon Ettl using x1 because the new x-system flashes are trilingual and vise versa on all the x-system, but the Nikon sb900 or Canon 580EX-II and Sony flashes are not.

Again I'm not a tech guy so I could be wrong in my explanation.

Shom,
I wondered about the tri-lingual capability since the AD600 can accept TTL commands from different TTL controllers. That's a really intelligent approach for Godox to take. It suggests a lot of interesting possibilities.
For example, using an X1 receiver for Canon, with a Canon speedlite on it, with a Nikon or Sony X1T trigger/controller to fire the light in ETTL mode.

A canon ETTL 580EXII OR Nikon ITTL SB900 are not able to read each other, but would be cool if Godox could break those boundary.
They have made the X-system fully compatible with each other Nikon, Canon, and Sony godox units.

You can have a sony x1 and a canon x1 and a nikon x1 can fire and share one 360II , but you will lose a shot (black frame) between the cameras, because each camera needs to pre flash to set the 360II ttl settings.

If you were shooting in manual you can trade off shots and the 360II will change the power setting with out missing a shot, but that's all base on power setting and recycle time.

Again I'm not a tech guy so I could be wrong in my explanation.

Yeah, that sounds right. This is pretty huge because some studios, or some primary event shooters with their assistants shoot different brands, or some studio photographers simply shoot multiple brands. Such a cool feature. Plus we shoot out lights and flashes in manual, so the pre-flash is a non-issue for us.

I don't see Godox getting Canon and Nkon speedlights to read one another, though. They'd rather sell their own flashes.

Looks like adorama is delayed on the transmitter. Any idea if I can trigger or HSS with my 622c's?

you can trigger using the YN-622 for HSS just need a sync cable from the yn-622 to the 600/360 which ever you're trying to fire.

You got it, shooting on Saturday and Sunday so I'll be putting it through its paces. Wish I had the transmitter but I'll get by with my 622s
