There's just so much that works fine in XP that doesn't like to run in Windows 10.

I just saw statistics that show 10% of all operating systems are STILL XP!

Win7 makes up 57% (this could be slightly off as some could, like me, be using it purely to download photos from my 7D2 and convert them in DNG converter so I can use them on my XP machine)

Win10 making up 14%

The remaining 19% made up of Mac/Linux and Win9/Win8...

So, when is Microsoft gonna twig to the fact that a HELL of a lot of people actually LIKE XP and the look of XP (as in Windows7) and give us an XP style WIN XP2?

The Moon last night, with Jupiter and its moons nearby.

Two exposures combined together: 1/4000 sec @ f/5 and 800 iso for the Moon, and 1/5 sec @ f/5 and 800 iso for Jupiter and it's moons. Both taken with my 6D and 70-200mm telephoto lens at 200mm.

Right after sunset. It was not dark yet I snapped the Moon hand held with autofocus. I did not expect anything good, but it turned out not too bad.

Very nice! I tried doing the same thing, but it was a no-go to get them in the same picture in 2 pictures.

From Sunday Night - Moon and Jupiter

I shot this in Raw and Jpeg. I found it interesting that when I looked at the image of Jupiter on my LCD screen of my 60D I could easily see the rings of Jupiter. When I copied the images to my computer and looked at the Jpeg images, Jupiter was just a big white blurr. When I looked at the Raw images on my computer, THEN I could see the rings!

As you can tell I don't have a lot of experience with Raw, but I need to learn more.

I used my Sigma 150-500 at 500 and I also had my Kenko 1.4 TC attached.

Both images taken at 1/500 and f6.3 ISO 400

Where is Jupiters moons ? That much detail on Jupiter there should have been all 4 moons in this image .

I don't know... do you think I should have used different f/stop or ISO?

No , just take the original unedited image and raise the sharpness up and see if any of the moons appear . They maybe very dim but USM will usually bring them out . As small as Jupiter is in the frame the moons will be tiny tho .

In my experience when shooting Jupiter, at that particular exposure, I wouldn't have expected the moons to be visible. But YMMV. :)

At an exposure that shows the detail on Jupiter, such as Inspeqtor's, the moons are too dark to see in the image. I have a similar image with the same results. Images showing the detail of Jupiter and its moons are composites, in my experience.

Taking images of Jupiter with a camera and lenses is one thing but taking hundreds of images of Jupiter through a scope is totally different but the point is that if your exposure is long enough you will capture some light from the moons even if they are very very dim and USM used properly can help you spot where the moons are and then the Dodge tool in PS can help reveal them without having to do composites. But the best images of anything is always composites except earths moon . Using a camera and lens on a tripod will never produce a great Jupiter image. Unless the disc of Jupiter is at least dime sized to quarter size in a frame all you will ever see is a disc with two bands barely visible in any image and over PP will make it no better.

Then you need to take alot more pictures at different settings and see if you can improve upon your previous image. I've taken tripod images of Jupiter many many times only to get what most here get anyway and that is a burnt out disc with 4 bright specks . The others I use my SCT 8" .
