Archibald I think it is a Kite...hey, I'll take anything I can get.
I really wanted it to be a Bluebird though :)
Up at the cabin we have Mountain Bluebirds which are all blue....that will be a goal for another day.

With the 7Dii I ever only had me-focus issues. The cam always does its job IF I do mine.

Not the greatest photo, but it is from my first attempt at calling turkeys earlier this week and it illustrates how well the 7D2 handles low light - shot at ISO 12800 just after sunrise. Will keep trying and hope to get a nice mature gobbler in full display, good light, and with no branches between him and the lens :-). John

There is a smartphone app Merlin Bird ID. Since I always carry my iPhone with me, it helps me identify a bird almost right away. Highly recommended, and it is free.

Now I know I'm missing out. I didn't know the 7d2 came with a turkey caller!?

Thanks Robert. I'm lucky to live so close to a rookery. Taking many years for me to get good at it. Have so much to learn.
