Taking the 16-35 to Iceland in three weeks. Hopefully when I get back I can put something on this thread.

it's because so many wide angle options IMO

you've got the voigtlander 12, 15, significant size savings
canon's 16-35 which cost less, has performance bragging rights

I lucked out and found this lens at my local Best Buy last Friday. I used it the following day on a scheduled shoot in a cramp garage. I couldn't be happier with its performance. It's so much sharper than my Canon 16-35 f4 IS and I wish I would have upgraded sooner!

Awesome imagery and the 16-34/4 shines in your hands!
But hate to hear the EOS 16-34/4 is not so great.
I enjoy a FE 16-35/4 on my Sony but I want to add an EOS 16-35 for my
Canon line-up. Is it really bad? I've already added the EOS 24-70/4 and feel it
is a great performer.

The Canon is very sensitive to adapter quality due to the floating focus elements. Many of the adapters are actually made too short to ensure infinity focus but this causes pretty significant problems near the edge of the frame for lenses like the 16-35 F/4 IS. Having owned both, the Sony is a solid lens but the Canon is definitely sharper.

The Canon 16-35 f4 wasn't bad, but this Sony is much better in my opinion. The Sony seems much sharper in the corners and has less distortion on the wide end. Maybe I have a bad copy of the Canon lens. I used it a lot with my old Canon 6D before switching to my A7rII.

It's your camera body, the A7rii is a significant step up from the 6D. I've been reworking my library, including the 6D images, and it doesnt have the bite of the A7rii.
