Recently searching my files for a couple more candidates for my 2017 bird calendar, I came across images from my very first outing with my new 7dii and 400DOii, back in December 2015. I remember that day with great fondness. It did not take long for me to realize I had a winning combination. This pair of mallard shots are from George Bush Park in Houston (now under several feet of water):
