The Goths are out and about in Whitby, Yorkshire, this weekend. It's all to do with Dracula, apparently. And, no, I'm not a Goth. Far too old for all that!

A bit wider aperture would have helped this photo. 1/50 for people walking is bit too slow of a shutter speed. Take this with a grain of salt though. Stopping to change settings may have meant missing the opportunity

It´s a Czech editor. Its fairly known program with lot of years on making.

I actually tried RAW, but ditched it after a while, because it made no difference at all, it only took more space. So I shoot JPEG only now.

I some RAW recently, but I still cant see the image quality improvement everyone is talking about :) There are no details, its unsharp and pale.

The main reason to shoot Raw is for editing advantages over jpeg. You can correct exposure issues much easier, for example. Once you have it edited how you like, you convert to jpeg for printing, posting on the web, etc.

Jpegs only have about 25-30% of the original Raw file's information, and deteriorate further every time you work with a jpeg file.

Well, I tried to edit RAWs before and to me it made no difference. Maybe it was because of editor.

To me it seems, smaller aperture I have, the less sharp and good the photos are. Shouldnt that be opposite?

Immaculens told it how it is: "Jpegs only have about 25-30% of the original Raw file's information"

RAW purpose of its bigger size it is cuz it contains full information of the pictures......... photo edition is a plus!!

RAW does NOT, by any means, make the picture have more details or sharper... at all! that's our job, one looking through viewfinder, to get it sharp!! :)

Great shots. Zeus handsome as ever.

Thanks folks. Zeus is 11 next month. He has mellowed with other dogs, meaning he does not have to be top-dog at every encounter, and we have lots of play time and fun and exercise. Dog food gave him health issues so he has eaten people food for over a year and his health has been amazing.
Cheers ~

I know, but on 600D, my 70-200 f/4 L was sharp as hell from f/4 to f/8, corner, center, anything. But on 70D I struggle to get a sharp image and don´t know why. Is 70D somehow different from 600D?

It would be difficult to see any 'improvement' with the 70D, but seeing poorer image quality vs the 600D is reason for concern.

Have you microadjusted the autofocus on the 70D for that lens? Is it inferior results for any lens you use?

Have you set your 70D to factory defaults? If no satifactory improvement, then I think you need to send the 70D away for repair...

Yeah, I did AFMA a lot, but to me it seems, like it is everytime different. I AFMA a lens, leave it to my satisfaction and few days later, the same setting is bad. No I have -7 on 70mm end and -2 on 200mm and the longer end is just behaving weird. its circulating around -4 to 0 on the longer end and the image quality is not really good to me, but don´t know, if I want something, the 70D cant do.
