OK, so curious to know, because I have been looking at the used market for a Tamron 70-200 2.8 VC for a little while now and most of the prices are generally in the same range of low 800 through mid 900. Most all of them are USA model but with the way Tamron's warranty is written, if I purchase it from a second hand party they will not do warranty service - which is fine, it just means that if I need to get service done that I will be paying for it out of pocket.
But what about International Versions of those lenses? For example I see the International version sold on Amazon.com for 925, obviously Tamron will not service under warranty, but will they service it at my out of pocket expense? Or will they refuse to service it under any circumstance the way Nikon USA does with grey market purchases?
If all things are equal and neither a second hand lens or the international version get warranty service but they both get service at out of pocket expense, why bother with a second hand version and just purchase a brand new unused international version?
