That is too bad. It looks a little like what Taurus was doing in the 1990's, and wow, I would not have expected that to catch on so much.

You can get them either with, or without the magazine safety, and that is why the caution was put there. That one apparently doesn't have the mag safety.

Properly handled, it shouldn't matter, should it? And if a person doesn't know enough to handle it properly, they probably can't read, either. ; )

Well, it certainly isn’t something that “caught on” through popularity.
It was forced adoption by the companies’ legal departments because of lawsuits from our sue-happy consumers. I believe the on-gun warnings were a condition of judgments.
If I recall correctly, it mostly started with Sturm Ruger who lost a number if liability lawsuits regarding safety features from discharges with dropped Ruger single actions.
In just one case in the late 80s someone was awarded something like three million dollars in punitive damages.
Current warning have progressed as a result of the contest between blame and defend.

I don't want to allow this to turn into a political debate, but in my post I was referring to over sized "Branding" The Taurus reference was a specific revolver with the huge "Raging Bull" logo on the barrel. Unlike the fine print, these laser engraved graphics really jump out. Clearly this is a matter of opinion, one mans status symbol is another's defacement.

As for Sturm Ruger, safety warnings, and other fine print, I thought S&R have been doing this for many decades. I recall it was always a little joke that if you ever got bored you can always "sit down and read your ruger"

I normally specialize in underwater photography but have been inspired by the talent shown in this thread, thought I would do something a little different and try to do something with the new Ruger rounds I got. 98% of this is a legit image, the bullet and flame is composited. Three speedlight setup (Canon 580EXII) and now my 9mm and studio smell of vanilla.
