I'm trying to answer this one for myself also. I rented an 85 for some in-Parish no flash photography and it was great. I've anchored my wide angle needs with a Tammy 24-70 vc 2.8, and just acquired a 135 because that's what I could afford. And I'm trying to improve my portrait photography. I've not touched my 70-200 f4 non IS nor my 85mm 1.8 since I purchased this lens. I'm thinking about using them to fund an 85mm 1.2, then purchase a Tamron 70-200 f 2.8........... and of the three (85L, 135L, and 70-200 2.8 vc), sell the one I use the least..... OR, I might just be in Nirvana with my wide angle zoom, and the 85 and 135. Tough one. I imagine it's common to see the 24-70 and 70-200 zooms with an 85 1.2 and call it a day.........
