If it isn't a cardinal, a blue jay, or a robin, I'm not too good with ID'ing birds. I was just hanging at the pond and noticed this guy being very busy. I was trying to get a red winged blackbird but this guy caught my eye because of his personality, if nothing else. Something struck me about the way he was sitting on the stick, and the ripples in the water when he landed.

Anyway, I haven't shared any new shots in years, so here you go. I give you, "Bird".

Here's one of him in color, but I liked the B&W for that one.

Nice photos. And I think you made your goal, as I believe that is a female red-winged blackbird.

Went back, and the same pair was in the same place. Must have a nest or something. I tried again to get a shot of her hubby but he was very skittish. I think he was being protective.

Very cool. I was chasing some blackbirds with that lens shortly before I sold it.

Just trying to be better than I was yesterday.

Nice Shots, I think you have 2 different birds there, as previously ID'd female Red-Winged Blackbird and the one quoted above I think is a Song Sparrow.

Cheers

Kev
