I've lost most of my hair, but, title still with me.

I lost my 6-pack and replaced it with a flab-pack. :(

I never had a 6 pack unless you count my adult beverages I consumed while eating pizza that I can no longer eat.

Today, they finished texturing the wall repairs from our water leak that happened in early March. My wife and I are supposed to meet with the foreman for our reconstruction job tomorrow morning to discuss paint. My wife and I spent a couple hours at Lowe's (a large home-improvement chain here in the states for y'all elsewhere in the world) looking at paint samples. I think we have it figured out. Painting will most likely start early next week. It's gonna be a mess....

Hmmmm, positive thinking! Hope you mean it'll be a mess during the decoration and not after because you've picked the wrong colour of paint

Is there really such a thing as the wrong color?

paint from lowes...

it's gotta be Benjamin Moore tops, then Sherwin Williams...

after that, go for the Home Depot & Lowes brands...

there is a significant quality difference

I'm a fan of the Behr Ultra paints that Home Depot sells. We painted the outside of our house last year and it coats well. Great paint.

I've had problems with Behr paints and prefer Benjamin Moore. Behr costs less but I've always had to put on multiple coats to get good coverage. Benny Moore seems to cover a lot better.

Same here. Tried the Home Depot paint and was disappointed in how it covered and held up over time. 5 years ago we switched to Benjamin Moore and it still looks like new.

Actually, there's a possibility that there might be some paint on the walls when I get home from work. The foreman was supposed to meet with us at 8am, and he showed up at 7:45am. I'm just glad we had a bunch of extra color cards, which then got taped up in various rooms. The paint choices are good enough and my wife wanted to keep things simple and not have 20 different colors going in.

According to my wife, Yes. Yes there is.

We got the colors from Lowe's, but I'm not sure where the contractor will get the paint from. Since the insurance company is paying for it, I hope they don't "value engineer" the paint.

I think we used Behr when my then son-in-law to be (the PQ's fiance at the time) painted my family room. I had some ideas of things for him to do first, sort of like the "seven labors of Hercules." Painting the family room was one of them. But my wife would not let me have him hand-write me a copy of the Yellow Pages.

Good to know if my wife decides that the rooms that were not painted get to be done by yours truly.

I'm looking for Tilt-Shift software for Windows and came across this site - you upload an image and you have all sorts of nifty controls. Been playing with it and its fun. A shot I played with for vertical focus vs horizontal.

http://tiltshiftmaker.com/ (external link)

My 70D, as with most now, can make tilt-shift (mini-effect) but that is a pain and I like this site's controls. I don't have very many shots that would fully benefit from the miniature look, yet.
